Here's a little story:
I make most of my sculpture out of Super Sculpey. One finishing step I perform is to brush on some isopropyl alcohol which slightly melts the surface and easily brushes out fingerprints, imperfections and generally smoothes things out.
From my experience the only form of alcohol that works is 99% isopropyl alcohol.
I ran out of 99% a while ago (a bottle lasts me more than a year) and have been searching for more, but have been having a very difficult time finding it. Everywhere I go is either sold out or doesn't carry it anymore (they have 70% and rubbing alcohol and everything else but not 99%). Apart from that the pharmasist or clerk usually give me VERY strange looks and act nervously when I ask about it. This has been happening for several months.
Yesterday everything was revealed... One pharmacist finally told me that 99% isopropyl alcohol is used in the process of making crystal meth! After explaining why I need it she told me their store (Shoppers Drug Mart) did carry 99% but was currently sold out, and usually sell out as soon as it comes in. Their shipment came in wednesday and i ran to get a bottle early, sure enough by the end of the day they were all gone!
The Moral:
Crystal Meth makes your life difficult in a number of ways. Even if you don't use it.
